Double Down!

Dear Blizzard of '11,

Really? You are SO SWEET! Yes, I know you're a week early, but a massive blizzard a week before my birthday resulting in the doubling down of snow days in my life? I mean seriously. SO thoughtful. I couldn't have ASKED for a better present. I thought Wednesday was a nice treat, but throwing in some Thursday madness, meaning that I only have to work one more day this week? It's just above and beyond, and I LOVE YOU for it. Mwah!

This is my backyard. Under that umbrella is a table. No seriously. The drifts back there are taller than I am.

After an evening of drinking with my fellow snow day revelers, I felt the need to invade this awesome fort down the block. No one dared take me on. Also, have you ever WITNESSED thundersnow? It is a phenomenal thing...worth a lot of shots. I'm sure you can picture that scene.

We have a new snow blower for my building. His name is Killer, and he sprayed snow above 1st story windows. I found this hilarious.

That car is not driving. That car has been abandoned because it simply cannot continue to move forward. Most of the streets in my neighborhood have not been plowed, so there is nothing but buried cars and foot paths down the middle of the streets. It's the kind of thing that makes me so happy that I don't have a car.

Snow pictures are hard to take, especially when there's a glare, but can you see how cool that shape is? There were so many crazy shaped snow drifts. I went to the park and played for a long time, even though it resulted in me being ass deep in snow a few times.

Yay snow!

SOTD: Snow Patrol (because DUH) Take Back the City. It just seems appropriate.

Bonus song because it was stuck in my head when looking at all of the abandoned cars all over the place: Road to Nowhere by Talking Heads.

Love your parents. We are so busy growing up, we often forget they are also growning old.
